This is an idea I'm going to steal from our local library (but then again, I've seen how much of my tax bill goes to them, I paid for that idea). They have a book review program for kids in grades 2-5. For the book they read the kids are supposed to write a word or short phrase with each letter of the alphabet to describe the book or tell how they liked it, etc. An example would be something like:

Arthur's Nose

A - aardvark
B -
C - cool
D - doctor
E -
F - fun
and so on to Z

(as you can see I couldn't come up with things for each letter off the top of my head, but most of the kids turn theirs in with missing blanks too)

I'm going to try this in the fall when we start up school again.

What a great idea. Especially for reluctant book reporters. Short, concise and really, kind of abstract. What a way to encourage thinking outside the box! I know mine would sit there for hours trying to come up with just the right word. (They are very into using a thesaurus right now, only we don't own one!- they love the one at the library)

to make an ABC page. I use it for our spelling. I love to find new stuff like....baseball, butterfly, flower for spring. He loves doing his abc order with it for spelling.
I think he will love it for a book report!!!

Very fun idea Even my kid would enjoy that.
